Trish Hodge has spent 20 years researching and documenting the traditional uses of over 350 native Tasmanian plants – for food, medicine, tools and seasonal knowledge. Interwoven with historical observations and the status of vulnerable species, this book is a tribute to Aboriginal ecological wisdom and the enduring connection to Country.

Trish Hodge is a proud descendant of Manalakina, Chief of the Truwulway people of Northeast Tasmania, his daughter, Watamutiya, and her daughter Dolly Dalrymple. With more than 20 years of experience as a tour guide and eight years as a successful business owner, she is well-established as an expert in her field. She served as the native plant edibles expert on the television show Alone and has contributed significantly to the development of resources on Tasmanian native foods and advised on many ‘Bush Tucker’ gardens located around Tasmania.

Ryk Goddard is one of ABC’s most experienced radio presenters.  On Breakfast for ABC Hobart since 2010 he has also presented for ABC Classic FM, ABC Sydney and Melbourne.

Gina Chick is a rewilding facilitator, adventurer, writer and speaker. Gina was the winner of the first series of Alone Australia, made by iTV and screened on SBS in 2023. She is also the author of the bestselling memoir We Are The Stars.
