Starts 02:00PM

“And now our voices can be heard, and our fire can be seen from far and wide.”

Festival of Voices is Australia’s leading celebration of singing and the first winter festival in Tasmania, attracting audiences of 30,000 people in early July to be enriched by voices raised together in song. Choirs travel to Festival of Voices from across the country and the world to participate and perform.

This year we’re delighted that Fullers Bookshop will be a venue for a number of city-wide pop-up choirs, hosting performances in the bookshop or Afterword Café for unwitting shoppers and café goers (or festival junkies in the know…):

  • Monday 3 July – 10.00am – Men in Suits
  • Tuesday 4 July – 12.00pm – Harmony in Paradise
  • Tuesday 4 July – 3.00pm – Hot Goslings
  • Friday 7 July –2.00pm – Sound Avenue
  • Friday 7 July – 3.00pm – Pitches Be Crazy

Check out the festival website for information on other communal feelgood phonations.

While you’re at it, we think some of you might also get a kick from raising your voice as a part of Meg Bignell’s book-turned-singing workshop, The Angry Women’s Choir

All welcome; these are totally free performances!
