Christine Milne on Robbins Island and new Green struggles, in conversation with Guy Rundle (plus other special guests).

We’re delighted that this 19th issue of Arena Quarterly will be launched in the bookshop. Arena Quarterly is the third series of Arena, which began in 1963, and continued with Arena Magazine and Arena Journal. It is Australia’s independent publication of radical and critical political, social and cultural commentary.

Arena editor Guy Rundle will be in conversation with Christine Milne on the Robbins Island wind ‘farm’ struggle, the changing nature of Green politics that it represents, the rise of green ‘prometheanism’, and the need to reaffirm a more radical notion of changing the way we live.

The issue features a special section on society and the state in an era of increased social fraying, and social coercion, the crisis in our health system, blak politics after the referendum, green eco utopias and non-utopias, radical art from Adelaide, the abyss in the Middle East, the role of bad poetry in terra nullius, the politics of fat, Iran and the US and much more.

There will be a special discount subscription offer available on the evening – all are welcome!

Tickets include a glass of wine or soft drink.
