It’s Tasmania’s most famous true crime story: last year, Sue Neill-Fraser was released on parole after more than a decade in prison for the murder of her partner, Bob Chappell. Following up on his 2018 book, Murder by the Prosecution, Andrew L. Urban here presents the case for exonerating Sue, contending that there are grounds for a further appeal.
Andrew L. Urban, an author, journalist, and documentary filmmaker, fled Hungary as a child during the 1956 revolution, eventually settling in Australia. He has written for many publications and authored investigative books on wrongful convictions, including Murder by the Prosecution, which explored several wrongful convictions and was described by Margaret Cunneen SC as ‘troubling expose’.
This event will be opened by former premier Lara Giddings. Andrew will be in conversation with Rosie Crumpton-Crook, President of the Sue Neill-Fraser Support Group. Sue Neill-Fraser herself is also expected to be in attendance.
