Frank Moorhouse: Strange Paths
Matthew Lamb in conversation with Geordie Williamson at the Afterword Cafe. Frank Moorhouse was legendary…
Olympic fever ain’t a new thing. More than 2,500 years ago, major sporting contests were a central feature of Ancient Greek life. One of these contests was held every four years at Olympia: the Olympic Games.
Winners at the games would pay the great poet Pindar to write poems in celebration of their achievements. These poems are among the crowning achievements of antiquity, retelling classical myths and situating great achievements as the things that enliven our otherwise humdrum and difficult lives.
Join us for a discussion by James Horan of Pindar and his insights into the human condition.
